We've helped over 200 entrepreneurs go from home kitchen to licensed food business. Here's exactly how it works.
Come visit us at 551 Sherling Pl in Port Coquitlam. We'll show you the kitchen, the equipment, the storage areas. You'll meet us, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for the space.
No commitment. No pressure. Just an honest conversation about your food business ideas.
Takes about 45 minutes.
Whether you need 10 hours a month or 80, we have a plan that fits. Most new members start with our Starter 10 — $490/month for 10 hours of kitchen time over your first 3 months.
It's a low-risk way to get started. If you already know you need more time, our Start Up, Ramp Up, and Scale Up packages give you increasing hours and equipment access.
We'll recommend the right fit based on your production needs.
This is where we really stand out. Every food business in BC needs a business license from the City of Port Coquitlam and food safety approval from Fraser Health.
Most kitchens charge $200+ to help with this. We include it free with every membership.
We walk you through the paperwork, help you prepare for inspections, and stay with you until everything is approved. Most members get their permits in 6–8 weeks.
Once you're permitted, you're ready to go. Book your hours through our online calendar, show up, and start making your product in a real commercial kitchen.
Everything is here — commercial convection ovens, prep stations, induction burners, dry and cold storage. All utilities included.
You bring your ingredients and your recipes. We provide everything else.
Farmers markets. Online orders. Wholesale accounts. A storefront. Wherever your business takes you, we're here to support you.
Many of our members started exactly where you are now. Some are still with us and growing. Others have graduated to their own commercial spaces. Both are success stories.
There's no timeline. Your business, your pace.
We know this is the part that scares people. Here's exactly what's involved — and how we help at every step.
Apply for a business license with the City of Port Coquitlam.
Your business name, business type, and the kitchen address (ours — 551 Sherling Pl).
We provide the kitchen address, confirm zoning compliance, and review your application before you submit.
Apply for food safety approval from the local health authority. This is the main step — several documents need to be submitted and reviewed.
A completed food safety plan, your FoodSafe certificate (Level 1 minimum), and a site inspection.
We help prepare your food safety plan, ensure documentation is complete, and prepare you for the inspection. Our kitchen is already Fraser Health approved.
Once Fraser Health approves your application, they notify the City of Port Coquitlam, who then issues your business license. You can start operating once you've submitted your license application and have Fraser Health approval.
Most members are fully approved in 6–8 weeks.
$0 for our assistance. You only pay the government application fees.
Download our complete step-by-step guide covering permits, licenses, food safety requirements, and everything you need to know to get started.
Read the Guide →No. Many of our members are first-time food entrepreneurs. If you can make your product at home, you can make it here. We'll help you figure out the rest.
All memberships are 6-month agreements that automatically renew for another 6 months. New members can start with our Starter 10 package for their first 3 months, then upgrade to any of our other packages. You can upgrade or downgrade your package at renewal.
That's totally fine — most new members don't. We help you get them as part of your membership. Most people are approved within 6–8 weeks.
Our kitchen is fully equipped with commercial ovens, prep stations, induction burners, and storage. You may want to bring specialized small tools or baking pans specific to your products, but the major equipment is all here.
